Environmental Conservation Club
Proud Chapter in Grayson County
Our Mission is to protect and improve the Red River watershed as a whole. The Red River is a true gem located near many major metropolitan areas. It’s water bodies and surrounding shores offer an impressive ecological system that needs to be protected and improved. RRCC is a grass roots organization founded in 2018 to address real threats to the Red River and it’s ecological system. Our goal is to address issues on the river including to diminish pollution, and trash that is currently being added to the Red river. Consequently, we work to restore damage that has already been done.
RRCC is aware of existing possible threats for waste water contamination into the river from water treatment facilities, mining operations, and other industrial applications. We work with Resource Management officers and private land owners to set and enforce policies that will improve the natural resources of the Red River. We will ensure industries and municipalities along the Red River are in compliance with Local, State and Federal laws. RRCC recognizes that there must be a balance between monetary, human, and environmental protection goals. We value human and ecological needs and advocate conservation goals within the context of human health, economic and other community needs. RRCC recognizes to achieve this, there must be a connection between healthy rivers and clean water.
